ITIL Certification

EXIN and ISEB

The "Exameninstituut voor Informatica" (EXIN) in the Netherlands, and the "Information Systems Examination Board" (ISEB) in the UK, have jointly developed a professional certification system for ITIL. This system was set up in close cooperation with the OGC and itSMF. EXIN and ISEB are not-for-profit organisations which cooperate to offer a wide range of certifications on three levels:

This certification system is based on the necessary requirements to play the relevant role within an IT organisation effectively. So far over 50,000 Foundation certificates have been awarded to professionals in more than 30 countries.

Today, ITIL represents much more than a useful series of books on IT services management. The framework of best practice in IT services management encompasses a complete set of organisations, tools, educational and consulting services, as well as related working frameworks and publications. Since 1990 ITIL has been considered the working framework and shared philosophy of those who use ITIL best practices in their work. At the international level, a large number of organisations are currently cooperating to promote the ITIL standard as the de facto standard for IT services management.
