Release Management
Process Control
It is essential to prepare reports allowing the performance of Release Management to be evaluated.
In order for these reports to offer accurate information that is easy to evaluate, a series of reference metrics need to be developed, covering aspects such as:
- Number of new versions launched.
- Number of back-outs, with reasons for them.
- Incidents associated with new releases.
- Compliance with deadlines set for each deployment.
- Allocation of resources in each case.
- Correctness and scope of the CMDB and the DHS.
- Existence of illegal software versions.
- Proper recording of new releases in the CMDB.
- Incidents caused by incorrect use of the new release by users (due to inadequate training) .
- Availability of service during and after the release process.
